:Many of the guys on this forum do, including me, and there's nothing stupid about choosing a cheap and effective method. :Seems like a true friend would be there turning wrenches with you without getting paid :/i do as well but i hate doing so. i mean its just a pain, i have to roll the car on to wooden blocks so i can get my low pro jack under the car or so i can get on my ramps. .08" drop btw i usually do my work on stands. but once you work on a lift, working on jack stands just reminds you how much extra work it all is. i mean its just soo much nicer to be able to work with the car at a decent height instead of having to hunch over all day. honeslty my friend is an old auto teacher of mine ive known for probably 7 years. he has a 6 lift shop and three of which are for projects. ive done alot of work on my car in his shop in the past and usually its just a microbrew and a cigar and we are good. but he is over doing tech work of most any kind recently, and his shop is something he hasnt had the time to deal with recently let alone side projects. so yeah if he just offered all his friends free lift time at his shop, that would last all of about 1 month. think about it, other peoples projects pays for his projects. like i said he threw a figure out there, but given our past i doubt he intended to charge me that figure. even at that the figure he threw out i would be happy to pay, just to be on the lift.
